Living With a Temperamental Adonis: 99 Proclamations of Love

Chapter 312: I Dont Need Your Charity (3)

Song Qingchun and Su Zhinian got into a cold war.

Probably still recovering from the multiple attempts of her life, Song Qingchun hid herself in the bungalow. Su Zhinian also stopped going to his company and finished his work in his study.

Even though the two shared the same roof, they didn’t cross paths other than during the three daily meals.

Su Zhinian knew Song Qingchun was purposely avoiding him. He also noticed she was conspicuously more reserved and silent than her usual self, not unlike how she had acted when she first moved in to the bungalow. Other than calling him for meals, she barely communicated with him.

Using his super hearing, he knew she spent most of her time cooped up in her room, playing games, listening to music, reading, or sleeping.

This kind of life went on for five days until it was February 28th, the second last day of the month.

The tension and pressure from recent had probably spooked Song Qingchun’s system because her period, which usually came punctually at the middle of the month, was delayed to the 25th when she felt a pain radiating from her lower stomach.

On the morning of the 28th, Song Qingchun felt incredibly uncomfortable when she woke up. After lunch, she curled back into her bed, trying to lie down for the day, but before she could fall asleep, her stomach started to twist with pain.

Song Qingchun gripped the mattress tightly, trying to suppress the pain. In the end, she couldn’t help herself but moan in pain several times.

When the wave of pain passed, she felt completely drained. A sheen of cold sweat covered her face. She lay in her bed, trying to monitor her breathing. Then, she got off the bed, attempting to go downstairs to grab a glass of warm water. To her surprise, when she pulled open her bedroom door, there Su Zhinian was.

He was holding a mug in his hands; it looked like he was going downstairs to refill his cup of coffee.

After the incident that day, neither of them had brought it up. Even though she had apologized to him, she still felt awkward when she was around him. The words that he had said that day were like a thorn stuck in her heart. Whenever she thought about it, she could feel a dull pain coming from her chest.

Song Qingchun didn’t wish to go downstairs beside Su Zhinian, so after the initial startle when she saw him, she pretended that she had forgotten something and headed back into her bedroom. She was going to wait until he returned to his study before she ventured downstairs.

However, before Song Qingchun could take several steps back, Su Zhinian stopped and asked, "What’s wrong? Are you not feeling well?"

He glanced twice at the cold sweat that was flowing down her forehead so that the girl would know what he was referring to.

"No, it’s fine," Song Qingchun answered immediately.

Su Zhinian had already heard Song Qingchun’s moans from his study, so he knew she was suffering from a painful period.

The only reason he had come out of his room was because her moans had kept on going for so long without any sign of slowing down. He noticed how pale she looked, and he asked the question out of deep concern.

Initially, he wanted to add, If the pain is too harsh, why don’t you give Doctor Xia a call?

However, since she had merely dropped him a distant, "No, it’s fine," he didn’t know how to continue.

Su Zhinian stared at Song Qingchun, and his lips moved, but in the end, he said nothing. He nodded at her before turning to head downstairs.
