Living With a Temperamental Adonis: 99 Proclamations of Love

Chapter 303: Was That You? (14)

It was the toll receipt she had accidentally found in his car when he had gone to fetch her that day. He had told her he was already near her when she called but the receipt showed that he had practically been at the other end of town.

At the time, other than labelling him as Liar Su, she also couldn’t figure out why he would lie to her.

Even now, she didn’t have a clear concrete idea why the deception was necessary, but she understood it was because he didn’t want her to know that he was actually worried about her.

He had been trying his best to conceal his real thoughts, just like the owner of those mysterious messages. He would appear to solve her problems, but he would always ignore her questions revolving around his identity, as if he didn’t want her to know who her benefactor was.

Other than that...

Song Qingchun’s eyes gradually fell on the lipstick stain left on the front of the shirt.

On the night he had gone to fetch her from the northern mountains, she had lost control of her emotions and cried. He had even offered his chest for her to lean on. After that, she had realized that the feeling was incredibly similar to how she felt all these years after the weird memory losses that would happen whenever she was at her saddest.

At the time, she even suspected someone had come to hug her and wipe away her tears during her memory loss phase.

And she was even reminded of this bloodied shirt.

Even now, despite the lack of evidence supporting that someone had appeared to keep her company during her memory losses, if that person did exist, then that person must be similar to the guardian angel who had been keeping tabs on her recently.

The most important clue happened when she was entering first year of university. She had cried her heart out then, and it was around that time too that she had received a message from the mystery number. This was too much of a coincidence; there was simply too many observations to suggest the person who appeared during her memory losses was similar to the owner of these mysterious messages.

Lastly, this bloodied shirt was the evidence that told Song Qingchun that the person who always appeared during her memory losses was Su Zhinian.

Song Qingchun hadn’t noticed this before, but now that she thought about it, most of her lucky escapes and good fortune could be tied back to Su Zhinian.

If she had been suspicious of Su Zhinian during the car ride home, she was fifty percent certain now that Su Zhinian was the person she was looking for.

Suddenly the doorbell rang, pulling Song Qingchun out of her reverie. She went downstairs and realized it was a delivery.

Remembering the incident from that morning sent a chill down Song Qingchun’s spine. She didn’t dare open the door for the deliveryman to come in; instead, she asked the person to place the stuff down by the door. She waited until the deliveryman had left before she opened the door to retrieve the delivery.

It was a document for Su Zhinian.

Song Qingchun took the document and headed upstairs. She was so caught up in her thoughts that she forgot to knock on his bedroom door before pushing it open and heading in.

"Su Zhinian..." Song Qingchun only managed to get these three words out of her mouth before her voice got caught in her throat with her eyes staring straight at Su Zhinian.

Su Zhinian had probably just gotten out of the shower because there were still water droplets hanging to his body, and he was sitting in the sofa only in his underwear. His fair skin, taut muscles, and washboard abs glistened seductively under the light that filtered in through the window.

Su Zhinian froze for a few seconds, meeting Song Qingchun’s eyes, before he hurriedly reached out for the pants that were laid out beside him and put them on.
