Chapter 459: Brother Yu Yuan, Are You Upset With Me?

Chapter 459: Brother Yu Yuan, Are You Upset With Me?

“Brother Yu Yuan, what is the situation over at the celestial battlefield?”

Lü Dongbin raised his wine glass to toast Yu Yuan with a smile. “Brother Jiang He single-handedly overwhelmed the legion of the Hundred Races Alliance, cutting down a hundred Golden Immortals, a thousand True Immortals, and over ten thousand Heavenly Immortals along with dozens of millions of Alliance forces. I’m very curious—what was the reaction of the Alliance’s leaders when word of that reached the celestial battlefield?”

“The Alliance were seething of course. It was said that some of the Golden Immortals from the lesser races accused the Demons and Gods of desertion, making such a mess that every other race learned about it. Some of the champions from the lesser races even came forward, demanding that the Demons and Gods punish White Sky and Modolo.”

“Punish White Sky and Modolo?”

A Golden Immortal laughed in the palace. “The lesser races are merely vassals in the perspective of the Gods and Demons. How could they compare to Modolo or White Sky? Why would they punish those two for the dead Golden Immortals of the lesser races?”

Yu Yuan took a sip of wine and said, “I heard that the leaders of the Gods and Demons decided to have them fight at the Fourth Battlefield for a hundred years, and are not to return unless they reach God King or Demon King!”

“That is considered punishment?”

“With their power, they could have reached God King or Demon King anytime they wanted.”

After hearing the Golden Immortals’ discussion, Yu Yuan added, “Be that as it may, neither Modolo nor White Sky could return unscathed after they entered the Fourth Battlefield. Many other Grand Luo had entered it by the time I was leaving, intent on hunting both of them down.”

Then, after a few exchanges, Iron Crutch Li asked Yu Yuan about why he returned to Earth.

Yu Yuan answered honestly, and after hearing that Jiang He and Wang Hou turned down his offer, an elderly Golden Immortal who looked to be in his sixties sneered. “How insolent. Do not be angry, Lord Yu Yuan—Wang Hou and Jiang He merely gained Fortune Qi and providence to gain their present accomplishments. They had never been to the celestial battlefield to learn about the power of the Jie Sect. They would definitely regret it after realizing their own foolishness.”

The Golden Immortal then rose to his feet and raised his wine glass at Yu Yuan, before chugging it down with a fawning look and grinned, “You need not get angry over insolent people like those—allow me to toast you, Lord Yu.”

Every Golden Immortal was noble in status.

However, they were much lacking compared to Yu Yuan, who was a Grand Luo, and the disciple of the Golden Spirit Saintess, one of the four great disciples of the Jie Sect.

There was nothing bad about currying favor.

Many Golden Immortals would not usually get to meet important people like Yu Yuan and certainly not gain the chance to ingratiate themselves. The elderly Golden Immortal was naturally pleased to do so by using Jiang He as an excuse for some fawning words.

Of course, many Golden Immortals present were slightly displeased at his words.

After all, their homeworld’s situation would not be like this without Jiang He.

Yu Yuan himself frowned and said, “You should not say that. Jiang he and Wang Hou certainly possess outstanding traits to rise in this age. They are also worthy of respect for protecting this planet and the billions of commoners living in it.”

That Golden Immortal laughed coolly but said nothing more.

Then, in the next instant, he heard a gust behind him.

Jiang He had appeared behind him like a phantom, and chuckled coolly, “I don’t know you, do I, Brother?”

That Golden Immortal’s smile stiffened and he turned with much difficulty, and spoke with a trembling voice, “Brother Jiang He, I’m Wang...”

Slap!

Jiang He’s palm had extended and instantly destroyed the Golden Immortal’s head.

“What are you doing, Jiang He?!”

That Golden Immortal’s Yuan Spirit flowed out of his shattered corpse like a dark cloud, materializing into a human’s silhouette in the air of the temple. It looked identical to its original body, and was glaring in rage at Jiang He.

Jiang He put two fingers together like a sword and pointed from the distance.

Splat.

The Yuan Spirit faded.

Kaboom!

A faint rumble resounded in the distant horizon. One could physically see a Golden Immortal’s Dao taking to the skies before crumbling and falling apart thunderously.

Stunned, the many Golden Immortals in the temple all looked at Jiang He. Though they agreed that the Golden immortal before had erred in trying to curry Yu Yuan’s favor by insulting Jiang He and had therefore spoken wrongly... did he need to die?

Yu Yuan himself frowned and asked somberly, “Isn’t that too much, Brother Jiang He?”

“Too much?”

Jiang He nonchalantly took out a handkerchief to wipe away the blood on his hands before sitting on the floor beside Yu Yuan’s table, pouring himself a cup of wine.

He reared his head before chugging the drink whole, his smile suddenly changing to utter rage.

Abruptly slamming the wine glass into the ground, he roared, “A piece of trash like him having the face to insult me?”

“Where was he when I fought to defend Earth? Where were any of you?”

“Calling me a bumpkin and insolent?”

“Ha!”

“When I first trained in martial arts last year, I became a rank-seven grandmaster in half a month, cutting down endless Ferals and Sky Demon Cultists to save almost a million citizens in Lingzhou City. In a month, I reached divine-tier, creating an immortal art on that very day and instantly cultivating Golden Pellet, drawing the Four Lesser Retributions of the Nine Heavens.”

“Again, on that same day, I fought the Golden-Winged Roc, a Feral Emperor and cut down that retribution thundercloud and become full-fledged Golden Pellet, eventually slaying the Golden-Winged Roc and building a foundation for the Hua Nation to purge Feral Kings.”

“After that, I slayed the Dragoncroc Emperor and wiped out the Sky Demon Cult before destroying the Sky Demon Legion that numbered up to millions.”

“When I’m Yuan Spirit, the Convergence-tier elites of Penglai Sect hunted me and I retaliated in my rage, reaching Convergence-tier and then full-fledged Sufferance in a single day by cutting down another thundercloud, wiping out the Penglai Sect... After that, I fought the second Sky Demon Legion in outer space...”

“Wait...”

Yu Yuan’s pupils constricted at that, and he asked seriously, “Brother Jiang He, do you meant to say that you only took one day to cultivate from Yuan Spirit up to full-fledged Sufferance?”

Damn it!

Jiang He was speechless.

It was very miserable to be cut short just as he was speaking generously and passionately... but that was fine, since he was just spitting facts and not showing off. In fact, he did not have to mention how hard his cultivation progressively became, since he just wanted to show that his journey was difficult and anguishing.

He nodded at Yu Yuan’s question, and told the truth, “To be precise, it was two hours... I remembered that I rose from Yuan Spirit to completion, drawing the Retribution of the Nine Heavens, but I cut down the cloud since I was worried that it would take too long... so maybe it wasn’t two hours?”

The scene became silent.

All the Golden Immortals present who had the right to drink wine with Yu Yuan in this palace were, at the very least, Golden Immortals who boasted some degree of ability.

A full-fledged Sufferance was nothing to them.

However, someone who could ascend from Yuan Spirit to full-fledged Sufferance in less than two hours... was simply unbelievable.

Even Lü Dongbin appeared stunned and muttered, “I am not that much of a devil even after I reincarnated and re-cultivated...”

Yu Yuan took a deep breath and said, “So the rumors were real. Brother Jiang He, your talent is truly... devilish. By the way, did you just say that you created your own immortal art?”

“Yeah.”

Jiang He smiled bitterly and said, “Unlike you cultivators who possess orthodox legacies, I didn’t even know if there are truly immortal arts before I started cultivating... It is by coincidence that I found a torn script from a cultivation manual, and only then had I thought about creating an immortal art of my own.”

At that, Jiang He’s bitter smile became confident as he flatly added, “It’s lucky that though my talent is lacking, I am gifted in creating immortal arts. To tell the truth, every immortal art I’ve cultivated until now, including the technique for arrays, item refinement, and pellet refinement, have all been created by myself.”

“What?”

Yu Yuan’s eyes widened so much they almost dropped out.

Jiang He waved him off and said, “Of course, that’s not worth mentioning. My main purpose in coming today is to speak with Brother Yu Yuan.”

His eyes hence turned and he stared straight at Yu Yuan and asked seriously, “You are a Grand Luo elite, and said to be of the Jie Sect and the disciple of the Golden Spirit Saintess, one of the four great disciples of the Jie Sect. You would probably be broad-minded enough that you would not become angered out of embarrassment after Minister Wang and I refused you?”

Huh?

Yu Yuan appeared taken aback.

What... was that supposed to mean?

He shook his head, smiled and said, “You worry too much, Brother Jiang He. I was personally received by my patriarch before I returned... he said that all is decided by fate and I should not force anything.”

“Oh?”

Jiang He narrowed his eyes as if to determine whether Yu Yuan was lying. However, he did not show it and instead smiled. “That’s good.”

So, Yu Yuan was speaking from the heart?

Fine.

Whether Yu Yuan was actually doing that, Jiang He had not excuse to go amok at this situation... therefore, he had to test things out.

Rising, Jiang He appeared ready to leave, but he paused at the doors to the palace and said, “By the way, Brother Yu Yuan, I believe that your patriarch’s words were nonsensical.”

“Why bother cultivating if everything is decided by fate?”

“Just stealing meals and waiting to die works.”

“Eh?”

Yu Yuan’s expression turned cold and he growled, “Brother Jiang He, are you not being too much, insulting my patriarch right front of me?”

“Too much?”

Jiang He promptly turned toward Yu Yuan, a thought crossing his mind then—

“System, cultivate the Scripture of the Chaos Thundersword to completion!”

[Ding!]

[-10,000 Farm Points.]

[Congratulations, Host. You have completed cultivation of the Scripture of the Chaos Thundersword.]

Jiang He’s presence promptly changed and his full-fledged Golden Immortal cultivation abruptly improved by leaps and bounds. He instantly reached Grand Luo, and stared at Yu Yuan as he flatly said, “Brother Yu Yuan, I am merely saying things as it is—aren’t you being a little too sensitive?”

And yet... he did not stop there.

After ascending up to Grand Luo, Jiang He’s cultivation was still improving by leaps and bounds, instantly reaching Grand Luo-intermediate...

And then up to Grand Luo-advanced.

As Yu Yuan and the other Golden Immortals all gaped, Jiang He ascended up to full-fledged Grand Luo and then asked, “Brother Yu Yuan, were you not lying to me?”

“Are you upset with me in the depths of your heart?”

“If you do, make it clear and don’t hide it!”
