Chapter 1357: Level 11 (Part 2)

Chapter 1357: Level 11 (Part 2)

Saleen was able to tell what was going on in Lex’s mind when he met her, but he was unable to comfort her nonetheless. Many of what Lex needed to do, was what he must do after all.

He could not have afforded to simply ignore the contract between them and the Goddess of Myers, as everyone would be have been doomed if he were to do so.

Without any words to say to each other, Saleen went back to proceeding as planned, staying behind with the Floating City and helping Holy Rock City restore order. There was also the magic cube, which he needed to get his hands on.

He needed the weapon spirit of the Floating City to get that part done. The God of Magic Net was able to merge the entire magic cube into the its space. Despite having yet developed its own divine kingdom, that weapon spirit was still capable of doing at least that much.

There had been ample space opened in the Floating City, making it possible to fit even tens of the likes of that magic cube into it.

The best way to take the huge device was to wait for the magic cube to develop its own weapon spirit, which would then be devoured by the one at the Floating City. Saleen did not bother with the detailed handling of such matters.

There were others to do it for him. He was no longer that lowly mage he had once been, and there was no need for him to attend to every single matter himself.

Saleen returned to the Magical Element Tower within the Floating City. He had Rafel with him as he prepared to advance further at the 17th floor of the magic tower. Before he were to do that, he needed to craft a set of equipment for his own use.

The magic robe that he was currently wearing was something crafted by Gaine. Despite being powerful, it was a pity that it was crafted using methods of the astrologers and had too much of astrologer’s power on it.

Gaine was doing so to tempt Saleen. If Saleen were to give up on magic and turned his attention to learning astrology, then the magic robe could have been used as a piece of equipment of an astrologer as well.

Furthermore, the seals on that four level 18 star figures would have been undone right away, reaching the pinnacle permissible power in Myers Mainland.

That was to say that when Myers Mainland’s powers were to be raised above level 13, those four star figures could have then advanced to the pinnacle of level 15. If Saleen refused to give up on magic, then he would have needed to upgrade them one level after another.

The seals on the star figures would have only gradually dissolved as his magic chords grew.

If it had been a long time ago, Saleen might have actually agreed to Gaine’s wishes and went to further his training in astrology. However, after being encouraged by his teacher, Saleen’s personality had grown more resilient. He knew that he loved magic the most instead of astrology.

Astrology is capable of telling fates and fortunes, so what?

Gaine was already considered a powerful astrologer, and yet he was unable to break free from the chains of fate. His soul was trapped within a figure and had to endured the eons.

It was not something good to experience. All human sensations were cut off by something resembling curses. Gaine gained extremely long life, yet he lost the joy of being a human.

He did not know hunger, he had no sense of taste, he was unable to tell coldness and warmth, and he also was unable to feel sadness or joy. Gaine was only able to survive as long as he did due to the memories of the past, savoring them repeatedly.

Such punishments might have been cast upon him due to having seen too many secrets of fate, and too many things of what would have been.

Saleen was unable to even tell if Gaine would have been able to break through the crystal wall system, with that level 19 Star Gathering Needle in his possession. If fate continued to refuse to leave him be, then he would have been merged as part of the crystal wall, continuing the life he had lived before.

He would have remained stuck as a part of the crystal wall system, without any way of leaving or dying.

Saleen determined to continue walking on the path of magic. No amount of temptations would have been enough to sway him from that choice.

“Rafel, I’m getting ready to advance. Protect me.”

Rafel nodded and looked at Saleen enviously. The rate at which humans advanced was not something achievable by the gods in a long shot. Gods might have been born at level 13, yet they could have lived for millions of years and not getting to level 14.

Humans on the other hand...well, how long is Saleen again? His true age is probably less than 200 years old, no?

Saleen was about to advance to level 11 within just over 100 years, and he was born lower than level zero. Humans eh...

Saleen did not know what was going on in Rafel’s mind. The Magical Element Tower was merged within the Floating City and was even safer than before. No one else would have been able to interfere with his advancement at such a place.

Saleen sat at the center of the magic tower. Piles of golden granules surrounded him.

Magic robes, magic books, magic staffs, rings, bangles, shoes, belts, all of those were items that could have been replicated. Saleen had the Elemental Eye and he had long been able to read the secrets of his own equipment like the back of his own hand.

Some of the items were too complex for him to replicate, but that did not bother him, as he wanted to craft a set of lightning equipment that could have advanced alongside him.

He intended to use the third weapon spirit for that purpose.

When that original weapon spirit of the Floating Spirit was split into three, Saleen kept the third piece untouched, reserving it specifically for that very day. He intended to keep it that way until he was ready to break into level 12, but from the looks of things at that moment, he did not see any need to wait any further.

Saleen, who was being circled by his Water Flame, hovered in it. That stuff was not considered something burning and it had a frighteningly low temperature. Rafel then backed away, startled, for fear of being harmed by the Water Flame.

Of course, the Water Flame was unable to actually kill her, yet she saw no sense in simply just standing around and let the Water Flame dissolve her body.

Saleen swept that body of the Evil Oracle up using the Water Flame and began refining it. The golden granules were dissolved by the Water Flame and turned into liquid instead of reduced to dust. The lightning magic patterns remained intact within the golden liquid, and Saleen knew that he hit jackpot.

The rules of lightning magic patterns were indeed something that his Water Flame was incapable of damaging.

Unless, the material that the lightning magic patterns latched onto was too weak and brittle. Those golden granules were a far cry from that, being very resilient materials.

The Starline Robe flew up. Saleen was almost stripped bare, leaving only for items on his person.

Said items were the Ring of Cosmos, his magic amplifier, the Crystal Ring and the Thunder Dragon Blaster. He was unable to just keep his family badge on his person, so he handed it to Rafel for safekeeping instead.

Rafel held onto Saleen’s family badge and did not know what to think of it. The power infused within the badge was too great. If Saleen was unable to unleash those power within, even a clone of the Heretic God could have been reduced to dust, let alone the clone of an oracle.

Rafel heard many stories about powerful humans, but she had never heard of any powerful ones have gods serving them, even if said god was a pseudogod.

It was not that powerful humans were entirely uninterested in the gods, but they simply deemed that subjugating gods were too much trouble, and making things out of them yielded greater value.

Saleen, on the other hand, brought the power of gods to bear. Both of his weapon spirits had evolved into pseudogods. Furthermore, the way Saleen controlled them did not seem to be ones that would have gotten him into further trouble. Despite his low level, none of the two pseudogods had any intentions of rebelling against him.

Saleen focused and began to craft his equipment. The liquefied golden granules were being formed into threads, which then began to be sewn into clothing under Saleen’s control. That knitting method differed from divine crafting and did not resemble conventional alchemy as well.

It was something borne out of the secret arts imparted to him by his teacher, enabling him to control it using mental powers, keeping the lightning magic patterns within the golden granules intact, as he construct three-dimensional magic patterns out of those lightning magic patterns.

The thickness of a magic robe was limited, yet Saleen needed to make 36 layers nonetheless.

The entire robe differed considerably from conventional magic robes in terms of style. The belt was no longer made of hard materials, and was instead woven to resemble silk belts of Cloudflow origin.

In order to facilitate ease in flight and combat, the back of the belt was often covered within the magic robe, yet Saleen’s magic robe was entirely wrapped around by the belt.

There was no hood in the new magic robe, as he crafted a separate hat instead, just like how Cloudflow people would have down it. The reasons for doing so was simple—the style looked more elegant, and it made it easier to form three-dimensional magic arrays.

Saleen crafted 64 runes on the magic robe, which were acquired from the Ring of Cosmos. He was unable to master the power of said ring, as that artifact’s level was just too high. However, he only needed to master some of the rules to enable use of all 64 runes, which in turn, enabled him to craft 64 spaces for storing magic.

Those were true space instead of something like magic staffs.

The magic robe was capable of storing 64 magic spells, and all 64 of them were at critical points, enabling to be cast at the fastest speeds possible.

The only shortcoming to it when compared with the original Starline Robe was that he needed to store magic spells into those 64 spaces personally, as no one else could have done it in his stead.

However, Saleen’s powers differed from the past, in that he was able to create ball lightning. It was suffice for him to store all 64 spaces with just ball lightning and nothing else, and their powers would have eclipsed any other spells that other mages could have stored for him.

Holy Rock City’s reconstruction would have taken at least half a year to accomplish. The internal parts of the city were severely damaged and the walls needed time for self-healing as well. As such, Saleen was in no hurry.

He slowly worked at making his own magic robe, shoes, hat, belt and even underwear. Saleen still had mental powers to spend after finishing all of that in one go. As such, he went on to craft a pair of gloves as well.

With the exception of the gloves, the entire set of magic clothing was considered one complete set. However, Saleen lacked Dante’s power to mold colors with the power of lightning on his magic robe. The completed magic robe was very soft, yet it was in a golden, translucent state.

Saleen would have looked naked still when wearing it.

He then put on the golden magic robe that he had personally crafted and asked Rafel, “How long has it been?”

“108 days.”

“It’s been that long!”

“Yeah. Lex sent men here before. She hoped that you would stay for a bit longer here. Morale was stable with the Floating City around. There was also the thing with the magic cube’s weapon spirit. It was about to be born. Do you want to go down and take a look?”

“Not yet. I’m not finished with my equipment yet,” Saleen refused.

Rafel felt indifferent about his decision and continued to look at Saleen work on his alchemy. Saleen learned of his shortcomings when he finished crafting the magic robe. It was fortunate that it was possible to re-craft the golden granules after they were used to make something. So this is the god-like materials mentioned in the secret arts then?

He had wanted to craft a mask, but then came to realize that his methods were not formidable enough to do so, and chose to craft a magic book instead.

That time, he intended to replicate a demonic magic book.

That demonic magic book was very formidable, capable of storing six magic spells without regard for levels or elemental types. The book was practically capable of storing any magic spell.

What Saleen wanted to do then was to replicate something similar, while writing his lightning magic inside as well, in order to serve as a legacy.
