Why Did You Summon Me?

Chapter 122

“You stinky bastard! Are you trying to rape her?!” Outraged, Undine asked loudly. Somehow, there was a slight tone of bitterness in her words.

Baiyi was taken aback. That woman did not wake up at all during the entire ordeal so why did she picked such a time to wake up when he was just about to perform a body check on the King.Urghhh... She’s such a nuisance! Slightly irked, he stood up and walked towards Undine.

The moment Undine saw Baiyi walking towards her, she became flustered in an instant, thinking that Baiyi was feeling horny and intended to rape her as well.

“... W-What are y-you doing?!” Quickly, she lifted up both her hands and covered her chest. Although she had a slight liking towards him, she was not yet ready for him to do whatever things he wanted to her.

Because of the rolling around from the previous battle, Undine’s body was covered with grass and soil. Her lips were colored green from the grass, and her evening dress was torn at a few places. The silk stockings covering her legs were slashed open, exposing the fair skin underneath it. Right now, she was curling up her body and trembling in fear as she looked at Baiyi with a pitiful look on her face.

I-Is he angry at me for stopping him just now? ... Will he take me as a substitute instead? Oh, no, what if he suddenly lunged at me like a beast?! My strength is not fully recovered yet and I’m definitely unable to fend him off in the state that I am in now! W-What should I do? All sorts of nonsense thoughts ran through Undine’s mind. She knew about the allure of her beauty and body, she even found herself to be much more beautiful and attractive than the King, so it was quite possible for Baiyi to change his target.

“N-No! Don’t you dare touch me! W-We still haven’t reached that stage yet!” Undine bit out the words as she slowly took a few steps back. She looked so much like a frightened small animal that was about to be devoured!

What the hell is this crazy woman thinking?! Baiyi was appalled by her behaviour. Oh, lord, help me please! I’m not sexually interested in you, okay? And even if I am, what should I even use to do THAT? Make a male organ appear out of thin air using my magic? Do you really think I’d do such an idiotic thing?

Instead of wasting time talking nonsense with her, Baiyi decided to use action to express his irritation. As he got close to her, he lifted up both his hands and held her neck tightly.

Undine immediately understood his intention. At once, sound of loud screaming filled the air as she pulled her neck back and curled her body up like a little squirrel, not giving any opportunity for Baiyi to continue his offense.

Not knowing what to do with her, Baiyi turned back to continue with his body checking on the King. Just as he was about to take a step forward, he could feel his cloak being snatched tightly from behind.

“You can’t go!” Undine shouted out loudly.

“Why are you defending her? This was the person who ruined your family plan and hung you up for the past few days. Have your forgotten about the fact that she planned to give you away to the barbarians as a prize?” Baiyi retorted in annoyance.

“O-Of course not! I’d rather you kill her on the spot instead of becoming a... a disgusting perverted monster!” Undine replied earnestly.

It seemed like Undine was actually a kind-hearted girl. If the two girls’ roles were reversed, Baiyi believed that with the unruly behaviour of the Barbarian King, she would probably be skinning her opponent alive to release her anger. It appeared that Undine did have a good moral education.

In truth, Baiyi did not want the King to die. When he sent his Psychic Energy to probe her, he found a slight unique feature on her body. Something that made her different from other human being. He wanted to continue checking but since Undine had interrupted his plan, he decided to be frank with her to prevent her from stopping him, “I am just checking on her injuries, I don’t have any plans to kill her for now.”

“Eh?” Undine was stunned.

Baiyi did not elaborate any further. Instead, he took a huge strides forward and grabbed Undine’s waist before he lifted her up and clutched her by his waist as if he was holding a purse. Ignoring her yells, he strode forward to the unconscious little girl and dropped Undine by her side.

When Undine saw the King, she was surprised to find the cute and dainty face messed up with grass and soil. Finding her to be a little pitiful, she asked curiously, “W-What happened to her?”

“She landed face first when she fell from the sky,” Baiyi briefly explained. Then, with his Psychic Energy, he proceeded to check her body again.

“But how did you defeat her? That sword of hers is no joke! Even the black gold armor could not stop her!” Undine asked again. Baiyi did not answer. Seeing how Baiyi was ignoring her, she got angry. Annoyed, she kicked at Baiyi lightly as she complained, “Hey! I’m talking to you! Why are you so rude anyway? Is her body that sexy to you? She just has a darker skin tone, that’s all!”

“Secret,” Baiyi brushed her off, making her even more annoyed at him and she decided not to talk to him anymore. Using that moment of silence, Baiyi quickly performed a thorough check on her and instantly, some ideas began to form in his mind. Still, he did not bother to announce his finding to the rest of the Voidwalkers yet as he saw the far distance was already lit up by small torches of light that were making their way hastily towards him. It seemed like the barbarians had found their location, at such an inconvenient time, too. There must be some special tool on the King’s body that notified them of her condition.

“We have to go!” Baiyi said quietly as he stood up and reached a hand out towards Undine.

“Are you going to let her off just like that?” Undine said reluctantly as she glared fiercely at the unconscious girl.

“We’ll spare her life first and let her experience a pain that is much worse than death. Her tribe will punish her on your behalf... In the manner that barbarians love the most!” Baiyi nonchalantly made up a lie to fool Undine before he clutched her below his arm like a purse again and quickly ran at his highest speed, disappearing into the night.

After running for a while, Undine could not stand it anymore. She reached out and knocked on Baiyi’s waist as she complained, “T-This is too uncomfortable, I feel so dizzy being carried like this. My waist is gonna break soon from your tight grip... Urgh, and my feet are hurting so bad being dragged on the ground like this!”

“Oh...” Baiyi stopped at once and pondered for a while, as if he was thinking about what kind of way he should use to carry Undine forward.

Undine was also thinking about the same thing, too. Different ideas flashed across her mind in an instant. Hmmm... What about being carried from the back? Okay, wait, that was uncomfortable, his back is too hard and I can’t see anything at all. Then, what about if I switch direction and hug him from behind while he’s piggybacking me? Oh, that sounds quite good! I can stick my face close to his back and listen to his heartbeat... Ah, I can grip him tightly at the waist using my legs too! Hmmm... But wait a minute! That sounds a bit laborious and unromantic... Urghh... I guess, arm-carry is still the best! I can rest properly lying in his arms!

What a cute idea that was!

But too bad Baiyi was not a romantic person. In just a few seconds, he seemed to have made up his mind as he hastily grabbed Undine’s waist all of a sudden and with a heave, he hauled her up on his shoulder before continuing to run like a bandit kidnapping a girl.

“Urghhh! You stinky bastard! Ahhhh... I hate you!!” Undine kept on protesting loudly! Her body continued to wiggle but since her strength had not yet fully return, she could not break from Baiyi’s grip at all. All she could do was kick her feet up and down to the point that she lost one of her heels in the dark.

At that moment, Baiyi was in a discussion in the Void about the King’s body. He was occupied so how could he possibly be interested in Undine?

... So yeah, it’s basically like this. What do you guys think? Baiyi briefly reported his finding in the Void.

“A special mark in her body? And this mark is the thing that gives her supernatural endurance, not the War God’s Sword? Hmmm, this is a little peculiar...” The Archmage said.

And this mark only makes her physical body strong, as for her speed and power, well, I don’t see anything out of the ordinary when I checked her. Just a normal human being. It’s the mark that is protecting her all along, Baiyi added.

“That sounds a little familiar. So, other than that, is there any other benefit that the mark gives her? Did you manage to detect the source of the energy?” The Devil asked. The Devil tribe often used such mark to provide energy to a person who made a contract with them, just like the technique ofan infamous inspirational ninja uncle 1 , which was why he was familiar with the technique.

No, there’s no force of energy flowing into her body at all, there’s no contract either. The mark is just simply there for no reason. Perhaps, it helps her to control that War God’s Sword?

“A masterless mark? In an ordinary girl? What an arduous person this God of War is! How could he just randomly throw a question to us like this without providing us with an answer?” The Archmage lamented.

“I actually have a theory. If the War God’s Sword is said to be the invincible spear, then this mark no doubt would be the shield. Could it be that the two of these would have to work together in order in to unleash the God of War’s power? But due to her ordinary innate capability, along with the lack of guidance from an expert, she could not comprehend the God of War’s true strength, which resulted in her being ravished by Sir Hope in the end,” The Scholar expressed her views.

Even if your theory is correct, can you please stop saying that I ravished her? Didn’t I already explain that everything was an accident?

“There seems to be nothing wrong with Lady Scholar’s deduction but the key question is, who is this God of War? I entered the Void very early so I’ve never heard of this name before. Anyone of you heard of him before?” The Soul Armature Practitioner asked in the Void.

The question really had all of the Voidwalkers confounded. Even the Scholar only knew that the God of War was the deity of the Steppe Barbarians. Still, the question of whether his existence was real or not, like that one person that the Church believed in, and how exactly did he get his authority and strength got all the Voidwalkers stumped. Nobody knew what kind of miracles he had brought to the world before. All along, many people merely thought that he was just a fictional God that existed from word of mouth.

First, it was the mysterious ancestors, then now the peculiar God of War. Looks like my trip this time is not in vain after all, Baiyi secretly felt thankful in his heart.
